THE CUSHION WATCH
Wristwatches come in a variety of case types. In particular, early watches made for men often had cushion cases or octagon (rectangular) shapes. As the name suggests, a cushion case is a rounded rectangular case similar to a cushion. Rolex Oysters were first used in cushion cases in the 1920s.
In 1935, the British military publication ``Regulations for Field Service'' advertised the Oyster Cushion Case as ``an essential part of an officer's equipment.
white dial
The stainless-steel glossy silver color case features a white dial surrounded by a coin-edge bezel.
The black print on the white dial was highly visible and was used by the US military until 1940.
The following year, all U.S. Army watches were required to have a black dial.
Arabic numeral indexes with shading make them even easier to read. The brand name "M.R.M WATCH" is displayed below 12 o'clock. The hands are luminous Cobra hands with a glossy blue frame.
