TYPE A-17 Vintage

This watch is a reproduction of the 1950’s Waltham type A-17. It is an improved version of TYPE-16 and has been supplied since the 1950s.
The 24-hour display is printed inside the indexes from 1 to 12 since the operational command system is announced 24 hours a day. For example, the development of the aircraft meant all-air fighters needed a 24-hour display on the dial of their watch because they needed to operate at any time.
To reproduce the antique style, the index was discolored to an orange-brown and is slightly peeled off in places to give it a nice vintage look.

時計部分はパイロットナビゲーションウォッチTYPE A-17のウォルサム復刻版です。
TYPE-16の改良版で1950年代から支給になりました。この時代になると航空機の発展により夜でも雨でも出撃可能な全天候型戦闘機が出現した為、この頃からパイロットウォッチの文字盤には24時間表示の必要が出てきました。1から12までのインデックス（時字）の内側には13時から24時が印刷されています。当時の蓄光のインデックスは経年劣化の為、オレンジがかった茶色に変色しています。また所々剥離が起こっています。これが程良いヴィンテージ感を引き出しており、蓄光加工を保ちつつヴィンテージ感を再現するのに工夫を凝らしました。
