TYPE A-17 VINTAGE

REPRODUCT OF TYPE A-17

This watch is a reproduction of the 1950’s Waltham type A-17. It is an improved version of TYPE-16 and has been supplied since the 1950s. The 24-hour display is printed inside the indexes from 1 to 12 since the operational command system is announced 24 hours a day. For example, the development of the aircraft meant all-air fighters needed a 24-hour display on the dial of their watch because they needed to operate at any time. To reproduce the antique style, the index was discolored to an orange-brown and is slightly peeled off in places to give it a nice vintage look.

AN5740 Pocket Watch This navigational pocket watch was used by the US Army and Navy during World War II. The model’s name is "AN5740": "A" for ARMY, and "N" for Navy. The classic AN5740 Master Navigation Watch has been remade so that it can be used not only as a pocket watch but also as a wristwatch (currently applying for a trademark registration). This is done by a special case being attached to this pocket watch.
W-10 Dial Standard. In keeping with the British Mil-Spec Defense Standard, issued May 19, 1971, the dial is black with the hours displayed in bold white and Arabic letters. Above the 6 o'clock, there is a broad arrow representing items distributed by the British government. Furthermore, the T mark surrounded by a circle below 12 o'clock indicates the tritium that was in the luminous paint that was used in the original watch at the time. The paint was used to allow the watch to be used in the dark.
